Alice Bhandhukravi is a British-Thai journalist who has reported and presented for BBC London News since 2006. She covers the stories and communities that shape the capital across television, radio, and digital platforms.

Of British and Thai heritage, she brings a distinct perspective to London's stories, spotlighting the full range of the capital's cultural life. Her reporting consistently champions underrepresented voices and addresses questions of identity and discrimination.

Before journalism, Alice worked in international finance as Vice President in Equity Sales at Deutsche Bank, covering the Spanish and Portuguese markets from London and Madrid. She retrained at the London College of Communication, completing a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism in 2006.

After the poet's death, Alice shared the story of how, as a journalism student, she'd cold-approached his agent for a practice interview. He agreed and treated her student piece with the seriousness of a major profile. Years later, she interviewed him for the BBC at the unveiling of Bob Marley's blue plaque and was able to thank him personally. The thread on X reached over a million views →

September 2024

The 10m Studio Dash

Filmed sprinting across the BBC London studio to reach her desk moments before a live bulletin, Alice recovered with composure and greeted viewers with a smile. She later joked she'd "qualified for the 10m dash (across the studio) in the 2028 Games." The clip went viral on TikTok and X.
